As a private pay therapist, I do not directly bill insurance companies. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Therapy is a valuable investment in your mental health and overall well-being. While I do not accept insurance, I believe in providing high-quality, personalized care tailored to each client’s unique needs. The cost of therapy reflects my expertise and dedication, the individualized treatment plans, and the support you receive throughout your journey. Think of therapy as an investment in your long-term happiness and emotional well-being. Prioritizing your mental health can lead to profound and lasting positive changes in your life. You are worth this investment in yourself.

I accept credit, debit/bank and health savings (HSA) cards, all via IvyPay (a HIPAA-compliant payment system). I also accept cash and check. Payment is due at the time of session. Cards on file via IvyPay are billed the morning of scheduled sessions.

Private pay therapy refers to therapy services that are paid for directly by the client, without involving insurance companies. This approach offers more flexibility in choosing a therapist and the type of therapy received. Clients can request a superbill to submit to their insurance company for potential reimbursement and work directly with their insurance company regarding coverage and reimbursement.

As an out-of-network provider, some insurers will reimburse clients directly for their out-of-pocket costs of therapy. If you will need a superbill, please contact your insurer prior to your first session. Be sure to ask them if they will cover the type of therapy you' need (individual, couples, family), if there is a limit on number of sessions, and how much of the out-of-pocket fee they will reimburse.
-
I keep a limited roster of sliding scale spots. These are offered based on a client’s income and ability to pay. Priority for sliding scale is reserved for current clients.

Yes, therapy can be highly effective. Research shows that therapy helps many people improve their mental health, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve personal goals. The effectiveness of therapy depends on several factors, including the therapist’s expertise, the therapeutic methods used, the therapeutic relationship and the individual’s willingness to engage in the process. I utilize attachment-based practices such as Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT) and Individuals (EFIT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to address a variety of issues. Many clients experience significant improvements in their well-being and relationships through consistent and committed participation in therapy.

The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and treatment goals. Most people start weekly or biweekly and step down as needed. We can discuss a schedule that works best for you during our initial consultation.

Yes, therapy is confidential, and your privacy is protected by law. However, there are some exceptions to confidentiality, which are covered in my informed consent paperwork and will be discussed during our first session. These exceptions typically include situations involving harm to yourself or others, abuse or neglect of a child, elderly, or dependent adult, and court orders. If you have questions or concerns regarding this, we can discuss it during our first session.
